| Dr. Andy uses at least four treatment heads
when he does photorejuvenation. This combination gives the
best clinical results. The four treatment heads are IPL-560
(open spores, fine wrinkles, pigments, sun-damaged skin, spider
veins,etc ), IPL-640 (hyperpigmentation, deep pigments, sun-damaged
skin,,etc.), IPL-590 ( hemagiomas, telangiectasia, blood mole,
etc.), IPL/YAG (facial and chest blue veins, leg veins, varicose
veins, etc.) |

Varicose and spider veins occur in an estimated
60% of the adult populations of North America and Europe.
Women have a greater tendency than men to develop cosmetically
disfiguring leg veins. Approximately one-third of these women
notice the development of these veins during pregnancy.
Currently, there are several treatment options available to
rid patient of unsightly leg veins, however, each method is
inherent with limitations.
A new treatment modality, IPL/YAG, offers a non-invasive approach
to treating the full range of leg veins(particularly reticular
leg veins), as well as a wide variety of other vascular lesions
without the precision required for sclerotherapy. It offers
the patients a non-invasive treatment method with minimal
risk of adverse effects.
The system combines the intense pulsed light(IPL)technology
with a pulsed 1,064 nm laser. The IPL component which incorporates
a broad spectrum wavelength is ideal for the treatment of
vessels. The pulsed 1,064 nm laser with high fluences enables
treatment of deeper(up to 5mm)and larger(up to 5mm)vessels.
Moreover, multiple pulsing capability(single, double, and
triple pulsing)allows for differential heating and cooling
of the various sized vessels, located at different depths.
The combination of epidermal cooling with longer wavelengths
results in minimal thermal damage to the surrounding tissue,
so that even dark skin patients can be safely treated.
The light is selectively absorbed by the blood target vessel
with minimal effect on the surrounding tissue. Moreover, IPL/YAG
has been shown to be safe and effective in treating hemangiomas.
